Dear evolutionists

You probably believe that you share a common ancestor with apes, and you may also believe that all life is the product of natural selection working on mutations. But what does the evidence really show us?

Dear Jehovah’s Witnesses

I admire your zeal for God and the effort you put into sharing your faith is something that I wish all Christians had! However, I do have big problems with what you believe and teach and I fear that you are lost because you have a different gospel and a different Jesus! Please see the following articles:

Does firstborn mean first created?

The watchtower bible and tract society claims that Jesus was the first creation of God. To prove it they cite Colossians 1:15 which says:

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. Colossians 1:15

“Firstborn” (prototokos) does not mean “First created” (protoktisis). If Paul wanted us to know that Jesus was first created why did he not use protoktisis? Firstborn means “first in rank, preeminent, heir”. In the very next verse, Paul says that by Him ALL THINGS were created:

For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. Colossians 1:16

Christ produced the creation, He created it for Himself.. that is why He is called the firstborn of creation. Not that He was a product of the creation but that He created it all and will inherit it all. It is for Him, He has the pre-eminence in it.

There are other examples of firstborn in the bible. David was the “lastborn” son of Jesse, but he is called the firstborn. Ephraim was born to Joseph after Manasseh, but Ephraim is called the firstborn. Firstborn does not mean first created.

The Jehovah Witnesses are in serious error when they say that Jesus is a created being. Jesus is to be given the same honour as the Father.

The Father judges no one, but has given all judgement to the Son, that all may honour the Son, just as they honour the Father. Whoever does not honour the Son does not honour the Father who sent him. John 5:22-23

Do you deny the witness of all these?

The Father’s witness about Jesus

After being baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove and lighting on Him, and behold, a voice out of the heavens said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased.” Matthew 3:16-17

Jesus’ witness about Himself

do you say of Him, whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’?  John 10:36

Gabriel’s witness about Jesus

The angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; for you have found favour with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David; and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end.”  Luke 1:30-33

John the baptist testimony about Jesus

I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God. John 1:34

Peter’s confession of Jesus as the Christ the Son of God

When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?”

They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”

“But what about you,” He asked; “Who do you say I am?”

Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God.” Matthew 16:13-16

The demon’s witness about Jesus

They came to the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gerasenes. When He got out of the boat, immediately a man from the tombs with an unclean spirit met Him, and he had his dwelling among the tombs. And no one was able to bind him anymore, even with a chain; because he had often been bound with shackles and chains, and the chains had been torn apart by him and the shackles broken in pieces, and no one was strong enough to subdue him. Constantly, night and day, he was screaming among the tombs and in the mountains, and gashing himself with stones. Seeing Jesus from a distance, he ran up and bowed down before Him; and shouting with a loud voice, he said, “What business do we have with each other, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I implore You by God, do not torment me!” For He had been saying to him, “Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!” And He was asking him, “What is your name?” And he said to Him, “My name is Legion; for we are many.” Mark 5:1-9

And what about you?

Who do you say that Jesus is? It is possibly the most important question in the world.

Therefore many other signs Jesus also performed in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name. John 20:30-31

Who did Isaiah see according to John chapter 12?

In John chapter 12 verse 41 there is a reference to Isaiah 6 where Isaiah saw the Lord the King of the whole earth.

Jesus said these things and went off and hid from them. Although he had performed so many signs before them, they were not putting faith in him, so that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, who said: “Jehovah, who has put faith in the thing heard from us? And as for the arm of Jehovah, to whom has it been revealed?” The reason why they were not able to believe is that again Isaiah said: “He has blinded their eyes and has made their hearts hard, so that they would not see with their eyes and understand with their hearts and turn around and I heal them.” Isaiah said these things because he saw his glory, and he spoke about him. All the same, many even of the rulers actually put faith in him, but they would not acknowledge him because of the Pharisees, so that they would not be expelled from the synagogue; for they loved the glory of men even more than the glory of God. John 12:36-43

In the context it is clear that John believes Jesus is the LORD who Isaiah saw in Isaiah chapter 6. If you are a Jehovah Witness this should certainly give you something to think about.

Can a prophet give eternal life?

In the bible there are many times where Jesus says that He can give eternal life. Please see the following scriptures:

My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. “My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. “I and the Father are one.” John 10:27-30

You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me; and you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life. John 5:39-40

It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life. John 6:63

After this many of his disciples turned back and no longer walked with him. So Jesus said to the Twelve, “Do you want to go away as well?” Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life, and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God.” Jesus answered them, “Did I not choose you, the Twelve? And yet one of you is a devil.” John 6:66-71

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?” She said to Him, “Yes, Lord; I have believed that You are the Christ, the Son of God, even He who comes into the world.” John 11:25-27

Can a mere prophet give eternal life? Is that not blasphemy? Unless of course, Jesus is more than a prophet?

Jesus is Jehovah

Please examine the following scriptures and make up your own mind. All scriptures on this page use the NEW WORLD TRANSLATION (2013 REVISION).. this is the bible printed by the watchtower organisation.

Jehovah Jesus
Isaiah 43:11 –
I-I am Jehovah, and besides me there is no savior.

Clear up the way of Jehovah!
Make a straight highway through the desert for our God.
Matthew 3:1-3
In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, saying: Repent, for the Kingdom of the heavens has drawn near. This, in fact, is the one spoken of through Isaiah the prophet in these words: A voice of one calling out in the wilderness: Prepare the way of Jehovah! Make his roads straight.
Psalm 102:1,25-27 –
O Jehovah, hear my prayer;
Let my cry for help reach you…
Long ago you laid the foundations of the earth,
And the heavens are the work of your hands.
They will perish, but you will remain;
Just like a garment they will all wear out.
Just like clothing you will replace them, and they will pass away.
But you are the same, and your years will never end.
Heb. 1:10-12 –
And: “At the beginning, O Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the works of your hands. They will perish, but you will remain; and just like a garment, they will all wear out, and you will wrap them up just as a cloak, as a garment, and they will be changed. But you are the same, and your years will never come to an end.
Isaiah 45:23 –
By myself I have sworn;
The word has gone out of my mouth in righteousness,
And it will not return:
To me every knee will bend,
Every tongue will swear loyalty
Phil. 2:10-11 –
so that in the name of Jesus every knee should bend—of those in heaven and those on earth and those under the ground and every tongue should openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.
Deut. 10:17 –
For Jehovah your God is the God of gods and the Lord of lords, the God great, mighty, and awe-inspiring, who treats none with partiality and does not accept a bribe.

These will battle with the Lamb, but because he is Lord of lords and King of kings, the Lamb will conquer them.

This is what Jehovah says,
The King of Israel and his Repurchaser, Jehovah of armies:
I am the first and I am the last.
There is no God but me.
John 1:49 –
Nathanael responded: Rabbi, you are the Son of God, you are King of Israel.Rev. 22:12-13 –
Look! I am coming quickly, and the reward I give is with me, to repay each one according to his work. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.
Joel 2:32 –
And everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved;
Rom. 10:9,13 –
For if you publicly declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and exercise faith in your heart that God raised him up from the dead, you will be saved.
For everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved.

God does not share His glory

I am the Lord, that is My name;
I will not give My glory to another,
Nor My praise to graven images. Isaiah 42:8

In this verse we see that the LORD God will not give His glory to another. No one is worthy of glory other than God. All the glory belongs to Him alone.

What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of Man is going to come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and will then repay every man according to his deeds. Matthew 16:26-27

Hmmm… Jesus is going to come in the glory of His Father. If God will not share His glory but then we see Jesus coming in the glory of the Father. What does that mean?

Now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was. John 17:5

Jesus claims that He shared the glory of the Father before the world was! How can this be so? Because Jesus is God. He is worthy of the same honour as the Father.

For not even the Father judges anyone, but He has given all judgment to the Son, so that all will honour the Son even as they honor the Father. He who does not honour the Son does not honour the Father who sent Him John 5:22-23

Jehovah’s witnesses you really need to let the word of God speak and give Jesus the glory that He is due. Beware the teachings of men!

In a loud voice they were saying: “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honour and glory and praise!” Revelation 5:12

Is Jesus the arch angel Michael?

The Jehovah witnesses claim that Jesus is the arch angel Michael. As far as I know the JW’s are the only group to hold to this idea. It’s hard to see how they could have come to this conclusion based on the bible only… I guess a better question would be why would they have come up with this idea? But anyway let’s see what the bible says.

Jesus is superior to angels

You only need to read Hebrews 1 to see that Jesus is greater than angels.

For to which of the angels did He ever say,

“You are My Son,
Today I have begotten You”? Hebrews 1:5

None of them.

“I will be a Father to Him
And He shall be a Son to Me”?
And when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says,

“And let all the angels of God worship Him.” Hebrews 1:6

The angels worship the Son of God. Would it be right for angels to worship angels? Certainly not! Would it be right for angels to worship God? Yes! Only God is worthy of worship.

And of the angels He says,

“Who makes His angels winds,
And His ministers a flame of fire.”
But of the Son He says,

“Your throne, O God, is forever and ever,
And the righteous scepter is the scepter of His kingdom.
“You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness;
Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You
With the oil of gladness above Your companions.” Hebrews 1:5-9

The Son of God is called God by God!

Jehovah’s witnesses you really need to let the word of God speak and give Jesus the glory that He is due like it says in John 5:23. Beware the teachings of men!
